Cardano (ADA) recently added 70 smart contracts as more and more developers decided to build on its blockchain network. Besides new features and updates, Plutus, a Cardano-based smart contracts platform, recorded dramatic growth between April 8 and May 8. As a result, 283 new smart contracts were added to the network, hitting a total number of 2,683 smart contracts.
Cardano Adding Over 70 Smart Contracts Weekly
According to the data from the Cardano blockchain, this network has been adding about 70 new smart contracts each week between the two dates.
These events occur as Cardano braces for another hard fork – the Vasil hard fork, scheduled to occur in June 2022. Vasil will provide the growth of the current protocol and increase transaction throughput, volume, and liquidity.
Cardano has already reached several milestones in April, with 400 new projects daily and close to 100,000 wallets per month. In February, the total number of ADA holders hit 3 million.
Still, Cardano is bearish these days, as it follows the general market sentiment. In the last 24 hours, the coin faced a 7.15% drop, and during last week, a whole 12.09%. The current ADA market cap stands at about $23.39 billion.
