Samsung Launches a Metaverse Store

The latest online hype, the metaverse, reached one of the world-renowned smartphone manufacturers — Samsung. The company recently launched a metaverse store on a famous platform called Decentraland.

The Samsung metaverse store is a real-world replica of a shop located at 837 Washington Street in New York.

Virtual Replica of the Store Will Enhance Customer Interaction

This consumer electronics giant announced the opening of a virtual replica of the store with hopes to enhance customer interaction while the pandemic is still keeping people away from brick-and-mortar stores.

The Samsung metaverse store will be accessible for a limited time. The company claims to be one of the biggest brand land takeovers in Decentraland, a blockchain-powered metaverse platform.

Customers would first have to enter the Decentraland platform via browser to enter the Samsung shop. After logging in, the customer’s avatar will be sent outside Samsung’s metaverse structure.

Then, the avatar can enter the lobby as the virtual guide will lead them to one of three available rooms – sustainability, customization, and connection.

According to Samsung’s statement, the Samsung 837X store will also feature “Connectivity Theater and Sustainability Forest” and a musical event at the “Customization Stage.”

What’s more, Samsung also announced the release of a new smart TV with an integrated NFT platform for discovering, buying, and trading NFT art.
